amlr.io vs Middesk
This one is easy to be honest about, because the two products solve different problems in different geographies, with some overlap in the middle. Facts checked against public materials in July 2026; their website is the authority on their product. Corrections: ops@amlr.io.
Choose Middesk if...
- Your counterparties are mostly US businesses. Middesk's coverage of US Secretary of State registries, TIN verification and US watchlists is the best in its class, and nothing we offer replaces it.
- You want instant, API-first verification inside your own signup flow, at per-verification pricing that fits transactional volume.
- You are a US bank or fintech building account opening, where Middesk is a proven default.
Choose amlr.io if...
- You are an EU or international desk onboarding companies from many jurisdictions, where evidence comes as documents, not registry lookups.
- You need ongoing AML operations, not point-in-time verification: daily re-screening, periodic reviews, registers, board reporting and a regulator-ready audit trail.
- Your clients are crypto, funds, DAOs, foundations or gaming: structures that need an ownership chart and human judgement, not a database ping.
- You want flat, public pricing with no per-verification meter, and support answered by the founder.

The coffee-table version
If someone asks us "should I use Middesk to verify US LLCs at signup," the answer is yes, probably. That is their game and they are excellent at it. amlr.io exists for what happens around and after verification: the dossier a regulator can open, the UBO three layers deep in a foundation, the review due next spring, the register your MLRO signs quarterly. Plenty of teams could reasonably use Middesk inside their product and amlr.io to run the department. If you only have budget for one and your clients are not American, we think the department system is the one you cannot skip.
