Comparison

amlr.io vs Dotfile

Both are serious KYB products and there is real overlap. This page is our honest read of where each one wins, including where Dotfile is simply the better choice. Facts checked against public materials in July 2026; their website is the authority on their product, and if we have something wrong, tell us: ops@amlr.io.

Choose Dotfile if...

  • You want company-registry auto-fill: Dotfile pre-populates KYB files from official registries across many countries, which is genuinely excellent and something amlr.io does not do today.
  • You need integrated identity verification with liveness through their IDV partners. Our built-in ID checks read and validate the document itself; we do not do biometric liveness yet.
  • You want a public API and webhooks to embed KYB into your own product flows. Ours are on the roadmap, not shipped.
  • You prefer a larger, VC-backed vendor with a bigger team behind the SLA.

Choose amlr.io if...

  • You need the whole compliance department, not only onboarding: AML registers with sign-off, periodic reviews, compliance calendar, MI and board packs live in the same system as the case files.
  • You want daily re-screening of your entire client base included, with no per-check or per-verification pricing to forecast.
  • You run high-risk clients: DAOs, foundations, gaming, OTC. Structures other tools treat as edge cases are our default case.
  • You want public flat pricing and unlimited users instead of a quote process.
  • You want support from the person who built the product and has run compliance desks for a living. When you write to us, the founder answers.

The coffee-table version

Dotfile is a strong product from a good team, and if your problem is purely "verify companies fast at signup," their registry connections give them a real edge and we would rather you know that now than after a demo. amlr.io starts where onboarding tools stop: the register your regulator asks for, the review that falls due in eleven months, the board pack, the audit trail connecting all of it. We are the younger company, we do not have their integrations yet, and we are honest about both. What you get in exchange is the entire department in one system, at a price you can read on a page, from a vendor who answers their own support inbox.
